Sustainability at Cabot Circus

At Cabot Circus, we're proud to be part of something bigger — a mission to make a real difference for Brizzle and beyond. We're operated by Hammerson, a company committed to leaving a positive impact: socially, environmentally and economically.

The big goal? To be Net Positive by 2030. That means giving back more than we take — across carbon, water, resources, and community.

Curious about the journey? Check out Hammerson’s progress, performance stats and the full story here.

What we’re doing at Cabot Circus

We're already making moves to shrink our footprint and uplift our community — but we’re just getting started.

Cutting carbon
We’ve slashed our electricity use by 13% — enough to power 135 Bristol homes for a year.

Saving water
Water consumption dropped by 38%, saving the equivalent of 4 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

Rethinking waste
We recycled 65% of our waste — that’s 735 tonnes, or about four blue whales’ worth.

Where we’re heading

Here’s what’s on our radar as we keep pushing forward:

  • Switching to LED lighting across Back of House areas to boost energy efficiency
  • Recycling coffee cups right here on site, cutting down transport emissions
  • Supporting biodiversity through green projects around the centre
  • Partnering with local schools and offering work experience opportunities
  • Sponsoring Bristol Young Heroes Awards with Community of Purpose

Because championing creativity and community shouldn’t cost the earth. And at Cabot Circus, we’re making sure it doesn’t.
